About Me
Hi, I am Elaine M. Shepherd, I’m an artist living in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire UK.
Creating art gives an outlet to the disquiet I have regarding apathy towards wrongly accepted cultures that have evolved and are damaging our world, wildlife and humanity.
I am passionate about this planet we live on, and all life upon her.
Painting brings me joy and is a meditative outlet, which also allows me to pay homage to issues that are important to me. It is my way of saying, ‘I see you, you’re beautiful and I am grateful we share this world.’
Mediums used are all professional quality: acrylics, watercolours, lightfast coloured pencils, inks and fine liners. Working on either canvas or paper, my art has sold both nationally and internationally.
For you, the art collector, I wish for the love within the art to reach you. For it is love that I invest, along with my passion for this precious rock we live on and all souls onboard.

Art commissions.
Creating a wonderful artistic interpretation of the animal of your choice, using my unique style and intuitive use of shape and colour.
For all commissions, a deposit is required upfront. Then an initial zoom call will be arranged to discuss necessities and to ensure you understand the process. A statement of work will then be issued for you to sign and return, prior to work commencing.

Pet Portrait
Celebrate the love and companionship of a beloved pet with a pet portrait.
Using my art style, I will capture the likeness and spirit of your furry pal.
Choose the medium
Would you like your pet to be created in coloured pencil or acrylic paint? Both professional quality and lightfast. Coloured pencil portraits are created on 300gsm cotton paper.
Acrylic paint on canvas, you select the predominant colour for the piece and canvas size.
Price is calculated: (H + W) x 15.00 = Price, plus 40% commission fee, plus shipping.

Spirit of the Owl - Rosie Hodson
I first saw ‘The Spirit of The Owl’ on Elaine’s live Facebook show ’A Brush with Art.’ I was immediately drawn to his beautiful delicate features and appealing eyes. I loved the silvery blue ethereal nature of the painting and decided I had to have it!
The process was very straightforward, I paid by bank transfer and was delighted with my purchase! It came with a certificate of authenticity and care instructions too!
It hangs in pride of place in our conservatory!

Spirit of the Fox - Paula Telizyn
I knew the moment that I saw The Spirit of the Fox that it was supposed to be for me. There was something about the eyes, the way the fox looked out, that really captured my attention. I have the fox hanging in my creative work space, a reminder to me to stay connected, grounded and playful.
Of course, I’ve been a fan of Elaine Shepherd’s art for a while now. Her style of painting really allows the true spirit of the animals to shine through. She really understands who they are, not just what they are.
If I said I had an eye on another one of her pieces, no one would be surprised. Elaine is an artist to follow and collect. I can’t wait to see how far she takes her art.
